Our Chapter President Gene Swier will be kicking off this month's meeting in his usual casual manner at The Ports Of Call Restaurant, Doubletree Hotel, 210 Holiday Court in Annapolis. As all of you know that have attended one of our Chapter meetings, it is a relaxed business atmosphere where you get to socialize with other Home Inspectors and hear the good, the bad, and the ugly of home inspection. You also get to share your experiences and ask questions in a no-stress, non-judgmental environment. If it is about home inspection, it is on the table for discussion. This makes our meetings a good forum for persons interested in becoming home inspectors who may have questions or concerns before moving forward.
There is no charge to attend this meeting, as all our meetings are open to everyone that has an interest in the Home Inspection industry. You do not have to be a Chapter member and you do not have to be a member of InterNACHI. Please come and join us to learn and share with like minded folks. Please register on line or call 410-626-7308 if you plan on attending the meeting. This will give us an idea of the head count so that we can let the facility know how many folks to expect (but you can still come if you don't get a chance to pre-register!).
Food and drink is available for purchase and you will only be responsible for what you order, if you care to order. (The food is very good !)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of our meetings focus on sharing information and education for the Home Inspector community. Some of these have included presentations on performing Home Energy Efficiency Surveys, Home Inspector Awareness of Important Safety Issues; Radon Mitigation & System Installation; What the Inspector Should Know; Indoor Air Quality; Beyond Mold and Radon; Wood Destroying Insect Identification; and Reporting Do's & Don'ts.
A popular feature in past years has been the "Defects Recognition" contest, in which attendees vie to be first to identify home defects presented in a slide show. Points are awarded for each defect correctly noted, and some pictures have multiple defects. The person with the most points at the end of the night receives a prize. Competition is fierce, close and FUN!
Another launch component for the Chesapeake Chapter includes acknowledgment of Charter Members. A Charter member is a member in good standing of InterNACHI who has completed an application and paid the $20.00 annual dues requirement for the Chesapeake Chapter. These Charter Members are from the first year the Chesapeake Chapter was established:
John Jordan EmcoSpec Inspection System
Warren Barnes-El Barnes-El Home Inspections
Philip Graham Abodes Well Home Inspections
Jim Minichiello Key Decision Home Inspection
Roberto Paucar “A” Team Engineers
Eugene Swier Regal Home Inspection Services
